Find A Cure For IMHAI was diagnosed with Evans Syndrome in 2006. It is a combination of IMHA/AIHA (Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia/Auto-Immune Hemolytic Anemia) and IMT/ITP (Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia/Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura). I was hospitalized for over a week and received numerous blood transfusions and a cocktail of immunosuppressants to save my life. I was weaned off the medications due to complications such as Cushings Disease but after a few months off the drugs, I relapsed again so I am currently back on medication. I continue to fight this disease everyday. There is no cure for this disease so please help support the fight for a cure. Meisha's Hope Fund and Morris Animal Foundation has teamed up to find a cure for IMHA with Autoimmune/Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia Fund #338. Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia is a serious blood disorder and scientists estimate over 50% of dogs diagnosed with it will die from the condition. Affected dogs show signs of weakness, lethargy, exercise intolerance and anorexia. This deadly blood disorder occurs when something triggers the dog's body to attack its own red blood cells. Despite aggressive immunosuppressive therapy, this disease has a very high mortality rate. Many dogs die shortly after diagnosis, so an effective early treatment is critical. All commissions earned from this design will go to the Meisha's Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at Morris Animal Foundation.

American Eskimo Dog RescueEveryday, people are working together to rescue Eskies and to help them find their forever homes. Show your support for these wonderful people and organizations. All commissions earned from this cartoon American Eskimo dog design will go to Eskie Rescue.

Opt To AdoptMommie adopted me in 2005 and she always says it is the best thing ever. Loving dogs are waiting in shelters around the country to be adopted. Opt to adopt and make a loving forever home for these poor dogs. All commissions earned from this design will go to local animal shelters.

Eskie Shedding Season

It's Eskie shedding season and I've lost bagfuls of fur. American Eskimos blow coat during the spring time. My undercoat is now all gone. I look a bit flat. My pillow and the rugs I like to lie on are full of fur. Mommie vacuums or brushes the fur away almost everyday. And everyday I have more fur for her to clean up. Sometimes I walk around and I will notice patches of fur behind me. If I am outside and the wind picks it up, I like to run after it. I sometimes try to catch it. I want my fur to stay with me. But sometimes it irritates my throat so I end up coughing up a fur ball. I hope I stop shedding soon. There won't be much left and Mommie teases me about my not getting away with being naughty as soon as I am not so fluffy and cute. But hopefully she will still find me cute even if I lose more fur.

Back Upstairs

Mommie forgot to close the fence today. She was in the shower upstairs and I went up and sat outside the door to wait for her. When she opened the door, she was so startled. It took her a few seconds to react before she told me No and chased me down the stairs. I bowed my head to show I was sorry and she went back upstairs. I could hear her talking to someone but I did not see anyone there. I was curious to find out who she was talking to. The fence was still open. Maybe she thought I would not go back up after she chased me down. So I snuck back up and sat outside the bedroom door. I could hear her talking inside. She was telling someone about how startled she was to see me outside the bathroom. Her back was to me but I saw she was on the phone. The speaker was on and I could hear someone saying that she should look coz maybe I was outside the door again. She laughed and said no way. But she leaned over to check out the door anyway. And she was so surprised to see that indeed I was there. She could not believe it. So the chase was on again. Down the stairs we went. With her saying No the entire time. I really don't think she wants me to go upstairs. I think I will give up ... for now.

Grand Grand Uncle

Today we went to visit Mommie's Grand Uncle who is staying at a nursing home. He fell off a ladder a few years back and hit his head on the sidewalk. The accident caused severe brain damage. Poor Grand Grand Uncle! Now he has to live there because he needs to have round the clock care. He smiled at me when I got there. His eyes followed me as I walked around inspecting and greeting all the patients. I showed him I could catch and bring back a ball. He tried to throw me a ball but could not. I could not see his face clearly because his wheelchair had a tray attached to it that was blocking my view so I jumped onto a sofa beside his wheelchair and took a closer look. I think he was glad I came to visit. Grand Grand Auntie asked him if he wanted me to come back to visit and he nodded his head and smiled. She said sometimes other doggies come to visit but they were big doggies so she was afraid to let them come near them. She was bitten by a doggie when she was a little girl. I do not think she is afraid of me because I am small and friendly.

Failed Covert Operations

Pooh! My covert operations did not go so well last night. Once Mommie turned out the light. I jumped on the box beside the stairs and then jumped over the fence. As I was climbing the stairs to get to the landing, she turned on the light and told me to go back down. Then, once she turned out the light again, I gave it another try. But she caught me again. After the third try she figured I was using the box and removed it. I'm going to have to sleep down here after all. Sigh! I wonder why she won't let me sleep upstairs. I just want to stay near her. Must be those articles she keeps reading about dog training. Phooey!

A Tighter Fence

Well, she tricked me into showing her how I got past the fence last night. She called me over to the other side with a biscuit in hand and so I went through the bars full speed. Now she is adjusting the bars to make the gap between them smaller so that I cannot get through. Hmph! It does not matter though because she forgot and left a box beside the stairs so even if I cannot squeeze through, I will just jump onto that box and jump over the fence. It is fun foiling her attempts to keep me from going upstairs. Gives me something to do at night. Hehe!

The Fence

Mommie was definitely not pleased seeing me sleeping on the landing again this morning. This evening she put up a fence to keep me from going up the stairs. I watched as she constructed the fence and plotted to see how I could get through it. While she was asleep, I squeezed through the bars so I could sleep on the landing again . They were not that hard to get past. I just needed to run fast through them to get to the other side. The material would expand to let me through if I sped through the bars fast enough. Hahaha!! I outsmarted her. Surely she will consider me worthy to sleep upstairs now.

A Puzzle to Solve

Waah! Mommie shouted BAD DOGGIE when she saw me on the landing this morning. Then she put taller boxes on the stairs. I will not be able to jump over those anymore. I guess she really does not want me up there. Or maybe she is just giving me a puzzle to solve. Maybe it is just a challenge and when I pass the test, I will be worthy of sleeping upstairs. Hmmm... I think I can get around them. There is a small enough space between the wall and one of the boxes. I just need to move all the boxes to one side and squeeze my way through. I will try that tonight while she is sleeping.

Halfway Up the Stairs

Looking good. She was not mad again when she found me sleeping on the third step this morning. She just put some boxes on the stairs. Is she trying to block me from going up the stairs? Or maybe she just needed to leave them there for some other reason. No matter, I can easily jump over those boxes. I am pretty nimble. Hehe! Tonight I will jump over those boxes and go as far as halfway up the stairs and sleep on the landing.

Progress

Well she was surprised to see me on the first step this morning. But she was not mad. I think I am making progress. Tonight I will sleep on the third step.

Promote Myself

I have been here almost a month and I do not understand why I have to sleep down here while Mommie sleeps upstairs. I have been very good and behaved. I would have thought I'd be promoted to sleeping upstairs by now. Maybe she has not thought about it. Oh well, I will just have to promote myself. Tonight I will sleep on the first step of the stairs and see what she does.
