Find A Cure For IMHAI was diagnosed with Evans Syndrome in 2006. It is a combination of IMHA/AIHA (Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia/Auto-Immune Hemolytic Anemia) and IMT/ITP (Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia/Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura). I was hospitalized for over a week and received numerous blood transfusions and a cocktail of immunosuppressants to save my life. I was weaned off the medications due to complications such as Cushings Disease but after a few months off the drugs, I relapsed again so I am currently back on medication. I continue to fight this disease everyday. There is no cure for this disease so please help support the fight for a cure. Meisha's Hope Fund and Morris Animal Foundation has teamed up to find a cure for IMHA with Autoimmune/Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia Fund #338. Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia is a serious blood disorder and scientists estimate over 50% of dogs diagnosed with it will die from the condition. Affected dogs show signs of weakness, lethargy, exercise intolerance and anorexia. This deadly blood disorder occurs when something triggers the dog's body to attack its own red blood cells. Despite aggressive immunosuppressive therapy, this disease has a very high mortality rate. Many dogs die shortly after diagnosis, so an effective early treatment is critical. All commissions earned from this design will go to the Meisha's Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at Morris Animal Foundation.

American Eskimo Dog RescueEveryday, people are working together to rescue Eskies and to help them find their forever homes. Show your support for these wonderful people and organizations. All commissions earned from this cartoon American Eskimo dog design will go to Eskie Rescue.

Opt To AdoptMommie adopted me in 2005 and she always says it is the best thing ever. Loving dogs are waiting in shelters around the country to be adopted. Opt to adopt and make a loving forever home for these poor dogs. All commissions earned from this design will go to local animal shelters.

Boo! Happy Halloween!!!

American Eskimo
Lots of people compliment me on my Superdog tag. Specially the kiddies. They keep saying 'Wow! It's Superman's dog.' Hehe! And now, I have the whole costume. I am ready to go trick or treating! Whee! It's really fun to chew on the chestplate, too.
American Eskimo
Mom, I don't know where my chestplate went. Honest! But this way people can see the Superdog tag I wear everyday.

Eskie vs Garfield

American Eskimo
Garfield has pinned me down! I love to wrestle with my Garfield doll. Mom tries to get video of me doing so but she is always too late. When I see the camera, I stop what I am doing and pose. I like chewing and grooming him, too. Sometimes I put Garfield at the far end of the room, then I go to the other end. Then I will run and pounce on him. Yesterday I did that but I left him beside the sliding door and when I pounced on him, I landed and hit my head on the door. Ouch! Other times Mom and I play tug of war with Garfield. Sometimes I sleep while hugging him, too. He is the best!

Muddy Eskie

These past few days, the grass has been pretty wet at the park we go to. By the time I finish playing with the other doggies, I am all muddy. It's so much fun rolling in the dirt specially when it's wet. Wheee! Yesterday, I got a patch of grass on my side coz one of the little dogs jumped up and stepped on me. I am the only white dog there so i am the only one that looks dirty while we are playing. Good thing the dirt falls off me when I dry out otherwise Mom will have to keep bathing me.

Back To Normal

Who knew anyone could be happy to see normal solid poo. Mom was relieved to finally see my poo production back to normal. This was the first time she has seen me sick and she was so worried. I feel a lot better now but she is starting to feed me my dog food again. Phooey! I want to keep eating the boiled rice. It is so yummy. I get so excited when I see Mommie cooking it for me. I just can't wait so I keep jumping up and down when I see her filling the pot. But it takes a while before I can eat it coz I have to wait for it to cool down. Since I was feeling better, Mom took me to the doggie park on Sunday. I saw lots and lots of doggies. I had so much fun but I also got super dirty coz it was muddy near the drinking area. I kept going there coz I was thirsty but the pails of water looked dirty so I kept hesitating. Luckily Mommie saw me there and got me some clean water to drink. But since I got so muddy, she had to wash my feet and belly when we got home before I could be allowed into the house.

I Just Love To Recycle

I love playing with plastic bottles. I help Mommie recycle them by flattening them out. Giant soda and juice bottles are fun, too coz they roll around pretty well and I get to chase them. I even have my technique all figured out. First, I remove the bottle cap, then I remove the little plastic ring around the neck of the bottle, then I can proceed with chewing it flat so that it is all ready for the recycling bin.

Under The Weather

We went to the vet a couple of weeks ago to get a preliminary exam to see if I could get a dental cleaning. Yuck! We got stuck again with the vet Mom did not like. She asked for a different vet but the receptionist said that he was the only vet on duty that day. Bad vet just kept looking at the computer and not at me. All he did was listen to my heart and said I was healthy enough to get a dental cleaning. Mom asked him about my crusty nose and he reluctantly took a look and said to put some Neosporin on it. Mom asked if it could be caused by a vitamin deficiency and he said then buy me vitamins. All the time he was in the exam room with us, he looked like all he wanted to do was leave. Mom was really annoyed. She decided never to take me to that hospital again.

Also, when she bought Neosporin, the label said poisonous so she did not put it on my nose coz she knows I will lick it off. She is just using a wet cloth to wipe the crust off. It seems to be working. My nose is almost back to normal. Although, it hurts when the stuff comes off so she only does a little bit a day.

The day after we went to the vet, I threw up. And I continued to do so every few days and also my poop became less solid by the day. And today, I did not feel like eating. I was gassy and was not my usual energetic self. So we went to a new vet today. New vet was very friendly. He talked to me a lot and told me I was a good doggie. He even let me smell him and his computer. He asked why Mom was tranferring me from the other vet and she explained that she was not happy with how that other vet treated me. New vet said there were a lot of people who transferred to him from that other vet. So that means that other vet really sucks. New vet looked me over pretty thoroughly and answered all Mom's questions. He said I may have eaten something that upset my tummy so I need to fast for 24 hours so that my tummy can rest. Then I should eat boiled rice or boiled burger meat before eventually going back to my regular food. If that does not work then they may need to do a blood test and test my poop to see if there are any intestinal parasites in there. He took a look at my nose and said that so long as Mom is able to control the crust using the washcloth then I should be fine. But if it gets worse then they may need to do a biopsy on my nose. They will take off a piece of my nose. Yikes! That sounds scary. I hope it never comes to that. Once my tummy is ok then he will check me again and then we can go ahead with the dental cleaning.

My Dog House

American Eskimo
Here is a picture of my dog house. It is outside in the backyard. There is a little lamp outside and some plants. On the left is a pot puppy. Pot puppy is made of inverted plant pots. Auntie made him for Mom before she got me. Mommie always wanted a dog but did not know how to take care of one so all she had were her stuffed toy doggie and that pot puppy. But of course they could not play with her so she finally got up the courage to get a real doggie. I don't sleep in my dog house though. I sleep inside the real house. Mom says the doggie house is more for emergencies like if it rains and there is no one to bring me inside. I do not see that happening though coz I am always inside when no one is around coz the neighbors complain when I bark. And I bark if I am outside coz when I hear people walking by the backyard I have to let them know I am there. The other use of the dog house is Mom hides snacks in there when we play hide and seek. That is always the first place I look.
