Find A Cure For IMHAI was diagnosed with Evans Syndrome in 2006. It is a combination of IMHA/AIHA (Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia/Auto-Immune Hemolytic Anemia) and IMT/ITP (Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia/Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura). I was hospitalized for over a week and received numerous blood transfusions and a cocktail of immunosuppressants to save my life. I was weaned off the medications due to complications such as Cushings Disease but after a few months off the drugs, I relapsed again so I am currently back on medication. I continue to fight this disease everyday. There is no cure for this disease so please help support the fight for a cure. Meisha's Hope Fund and Morris Animal Foundation has teamed up to find a cure for IMHA with Autoimmune/Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia Fund #338. Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia is a serious blood disorder and scientists estimate over 50% of dogs diagnosed with it will die from the condition. Affected dogs show signs of weakness, lethargy, exercise intolerance and anorexia. This deadly blood disorder occurs when something triggers the dog's body to attack its own red blood cells. Despite aggressive immunosuppressive therapy, this disease has a very high mortality rate. Many dogs die shortly after diagnosis, so an effective early treatment is critical. All commissions earned from this design will go to the Meisha's Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at Morris Animal Foundation.

American Eskimo Dog RescueEveryday, people are working together to rescue Eskies and to help them find their forever homes. Show your support for these wonderful people and organizations. All commissions earned from this cartoon American Eskimo dog design will go to Eskie Rescue.

Opt To AdoptMommie adopted me in 2005 and she always says it is the best thing ever. Loving dogs are waiting in shelters around the country to be adopted. Opt to adopt and make a loving forever home for these poor dogs. All commissions earned from this design will go to local animal shelters.

Ouch!

Mom and I were walking in the park yesterday and we saw a 7 month old Samoyed. I quickly ran over coz I wanted to say hi. He was about twice my size or maybe more even though he is just a baby. His Daddy said he would put on 10 more pounds before he would be all grown up. He had a really long thick leash that his Daddy let me borrow so that I could run after a tennis ball while still being tied. Afterwards, he put the long leash back on the Samoyed. When the Samoyed ran, the long leash wrapped around Mom's knees and scraped the back of her knees. She got big welts behind both her knees and some skin came off. OUCH! Now Mom wears skirts coz she says it hurts when the pants material brushes against the wound. I tried licking the wounds to make her feel better but she kept avoiding me. I lick my wounds and they heal pretty well. Don't know why Mom will have none of it.

Shaved Eskies

We just saw pictures of shaved Eskies! Yikes! I do not want to look like that. People like to pat and hug me coz I am fluffy. They may not think I am cute if I get shaved. I hope Mom never shaves me.

My Day Out

Mom took me to lots of places on Saturday. At first I was so disappointed coz I expected to to go out with them but then she and Auntie left to go to lunch and left me at home. Good thing they came back for me straight after that. They took me to Santanna Row in San Jose. I saw lots and lots of people and doggies. They ate dessert and took me around the place. It was very nice. I was saying hello to a Boxer doggie when a man said we made an odd looking couple. After that we went to the petstore. I saw fishies and birds and again lots of doggies. A girl asked Mom if she could hold me and Mom said ok. But we did not know that meant cradling me like a human baby. I struggled and struggled to get away from that girl. Mom was about to tell her to let go of me but I was able to escape on my own. Hehe! We set an appointment to get my nose looked at next Saturday. It has some crusty stuff on it. Sniff! My nose looks yucky now. I am also going to get a dental consultation coz I have some tartar buildup. After the petstore, they took me to the doggie park in Union City. There were so many doggies there. There was even a girl Eskie. But she did not want to play even when I asked her, too. Hmph! So I played with some of the bigger doggies. After that we ate dinner at IHOP. I was so tired I slept in the car all the way home. And today I am sleeping most of the day away. Mom is here to keep me company. I just wake up to go outside to potty and then I go back to sleep. Yawn!!!

Missing Me

Mommie says my sitters are missing me already. They even came to visit me the day after they gave me back to Mom. They have gotten used to having me around and told Mom they did not want to give me back. They said now they would call out my name in the house and then they would remember that I am not there anymore. They also remember me whenever they get ice from the refrigerator. I like playing with ice so I always go with them to the fridge in case they would give me some. I did leave them lots of souvenirs though. My fur is all over their house. Haha! They also had lots of stories to tell Mommie about my stay with them. They gave me ice cream and beer and a big beef bone. I would get lots of petting from the kids in the park. I met lots of doggies during our walks. I even met a girl Eskie when we went to the beach. Granny was hoping she could have taken my picture while I was sleeping hugging my Garfield doll. Also one time they heard me crying in the garage. I wanted to poop but it was already late at night and I thought I would have to wait until morning to go out. Good thing Uncle heard me and let me out. I really really had to go. But when I got outside and sniffed for my poop spot, the sprinklers turned on. I was so startled. Good thing we were able to find a different spot so I was finally able to go potty.

Reunited At Last!

Yipeee! Mom's home!!!! When Uncle took me out for my evening pee session, I was about to go in the house when I saw someone over at the mailboxes out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look at who it was and it took me a few seconds to realize that it was Mommie. Once I realized it was her, I ran as fast as I could to her. You should have seen me running. I was so happy. I got lots and lots of hugs and kisses. I kept jumping up and down as we walked home together. Foolish Mommie, thinking I would not remember her. Instead of going in the house and meeting me there, she figured if she stayed outside and waited to see if I would come to her, she would be able to tell if I could recognize her or not. So foolish! Now we are back together. At last. I hope she never goes out of town again.

My Vacation Home

Mom left for a business trip and I have to stay here at the sitter's house again. I call it my vacation home. I was here before when Mom left me to go to LA. I don't understand why I could not just come along. Hmph! Anyway, it is pretty good here. We play ball and take walks. I get to go on lots of walks. Sometimes up to three times a day. We met lots of other doggies while walking. Plus my Granny here stays home with me the whole day. Goodie! Sometimes I get too tired from all the walking and just cannot stay awake. They have a tennis court near here where I get to run around and catch balls with my Uncle. It is so much fun. They even took me to Capitola to see the beach. There were lots of doggies there! Mom calls everyday to ask about me. She calls out my name but it is very confusing because I can hear her but I do not see her.

Pool Pictures

American Eskimo
This is my pool.

American Eskimo
Have to get my ball.

American Eskimo
My giant water bowl.

American Eskimo
Hmmm. What is that floating in my pool?

American Eskimo
Whee! It's fun to be in here.

Mom bought me a wading pool. I had so much fun in it. I jumped in even before she could put water in it. She put some of my toys in there so that I could play. It was hard to chase after my toys coz the water forced me to move in slow motion. Hard as I tried, I could not run. My legs felt heavy. I tried to get my kong from below the water using my mouth but water kept going into my nose. Everyday, when we go out to the backyard, I take a drink of water from the pool. It is the biggest water bowl I have ever seen! Mom saw some pix online of doggies on surfboards. Wow! Wonder when I will get a chance to do that.
