Find A Cure For IMHAI was diagnosed with Evans Syndrome in 2006. It is a combination of IMHA/AIHA (Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia/Auto-Immune Hemolytic Anemia) and IMT/ITP (Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia/Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura). I was hospitalized for over a week and received numerous blood transfusions and a cocktail of immunosuppressants to save my life. I was weaned off the medications due to complications such as Cushings Disease but after a few months off the drugs, I relapsed again so I am currently back on medication. I continue to fight this disease everyday. There is no cure for this disease so please help support the fight for a cure. Meisha's Hope Fund and Morris Animal Foundation has teamed up to find a cure for IMHA with Autoimmune/Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia Fund #338. Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia is a serious blood disorder and scientists estimate over 50% of dogs diagnosed with it will die from the condition. Affected dogs show signs of weakness, lethargy, exercise intolerance and anorexia. This deadly blood disorder occurs when something triggers the dog's body to attack its own red blood cells. Despite aggressive immunosuppressive therapy, this disease has a very high mortality rate. Many dogs die shortly after diagnosis, so an effective early treatment is critical. All commissions earned from this design will go to the Meisha's Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at Morris Animal Foundation.

American Eskimo Dog RescueEveryday, people are working together to rescue Eskies and to help them find their forever homes. Show your support for these wonderful people and organizations. All commissions earned from this cartoon American Eskimo dog design will go to Eskie Rescue.

Opt To AdoptMommie adopted me in 2005 and she always says it is the best thing ever. Loving dogs are waiting in shelters around the country to be adopted. Opt to adopt and make a loving forever home for these poor dogs. All commissions earned from this design will go to local animal shelters.

Nasty Bite

We had to go to the ER this weekend coz my face started swelling. There were red patches on my nose and lips and chin and my muzzle just kept getting bigger. It was so itchy so I scratched my face on the carpet. The doctor thinks something nasty may have bitten me on the face and I got an allergic reaction. By the time we got to the ER my lips were so thick Mom had a hard time lifting it to check my gums. The doctor gave me two shots to get the swelling down. I felt yucky after the shots and threw up lots of times. And one of the shots made me feel so sleepy. Mom said I looked like a different doggie coz my face was so puffed up. I am feeling better today. So far no puking today. I do not want to post pix of my face all red and puffy so I am gonna post some pix from when we went out to dinner last month. :D

I was so well behaved and stayed in my seat. That's my little water cup that Mom brings with us when we eat out. It is more discreet than having a real doggie bowl on the table. I got to have some of the bread but what I really wanted was that porkchop Momma was eating. Sadly, I did not get any. I like sitting on the chair coz I am high enough and get to see everything. But one time, they put my stroller at the table instead of the chair so I was too short to see what was served.

Happy Thanksgiving

I have lots to be thankful for this year. Thanks to everyone wishing me well. I would not be here it if was not for all your prayers. And now, we got some even better news. We are gonna stop my medication. The doctor wants to see if I will be able to handle my disease without the drugs. She wants me off them coz the side effects are really nasty. So far the last few blood tests I had showed my numbers were in the normal range. So now Mommie has to keep a good eye on me to make sure I do not relapse. But oh how wonderful to be drug free. Hooray!!!! Those things tasted really yucky so I hope I do good so they will not put me back on medication. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Turkey!!! Yummm!!!

I Love My Toys

Sometimes I hear Mommie planning to throw away some of my old toys coz they are already dirty and coz it has been a while since I played with them so she thinks I do not want them anymore. So it is very important to make sure that all the toys are played with regularly. But sometimes I forget to do that coz I get caught up with a new one or one of my favorites. So when I hear her saying that she will get rid of anything, I make it a point to show her that I still like that toy. I make sure she sees me playing with it. Last night, she mentioned getting rid of some but she did not specify which ones. So I had to play with each of my toys. I paraded in front of Mommie carrying a different toy each time so that she would see me with them. And it worked! When she saw me do that, she said she would not throw anything away coz I still want them all.

Mommie, please don't throw away my toys.

I love them all. See? Even when I am asleep I want them with me.

Arhh Matey!

What a fun Halloween! Lots of kiddies came by for trick or treat last night. It was so much fun. I could hardly stay still with all the activities going on. I kept following everyone around and even got to destuff a huge Garfield stuffed head. Mom and her friends dressed up as scary monsters and I got to greet all the trick or treaters at the door. We kept the door open and Mom put a fence for me there so that I could see them all without getting out of the house. There was lots of candy and some spilled on the floor. They smelled so good but Mom said they were not good for me so I had to stand by and watch her pick them all up. Too bad. But she gave me a doggie biscuit for being good and not eating the candy. So Yipee!
