Find A Cure For IMHAI was diagnosed with Evans Syndrome in 2006. It is a combination of IMHA/AIHA (Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia/Auto-Immune Hemolytic Anemia) and IMT/ITP (Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia/Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura). I was hospitalized for over a week and received numerous blood transfusions and a cocktail of immunosuppressants to save my life. I was weaned off the medications due to complications such as Cushings Disease but after a few months off the drugs, I relapsed again so I am currently back on medication. I continue to fight this disease everyday. There is no cure for this disease so please help support the fight for a cure. Meisha's Hope Fund and Morris Animal Foundation has teamed up to find a cure for IMHA with Autoimmune/Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia Fund #338. Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia is a serious blood disorder and scientists estimate over 50% of dogs diagnosed with it will die from the condition. Affected dogs show signs of weakness, lethargy, exercise intolerance and anorexia. This deadly blood disorder occurs when something triggers the dog's body to attack its own red blood cells. Despite aggressive immunosuppressive therapy, this disease has a very high mortality rate. Many dogs die shortly after diagnosis, so an effective early treatment is critical. All commissions earned from this design will go to the Meisha's Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at Morris Animal Foundation.

American Eskimo Dog RescueEveryday, people are working together to rescue Eskies and to help them find their forever homes. Show your support for these wonderful people and organizations. All commissions earned from this cartoon American Eskimo dog design will go to Eskie Rescue.

Opt To AdoptMommie adopted me in 2005 and she always says it is the best thing ever. Loving dogs are waiting in shelters around the country to be adopted. Opt to adopt and make a loving forever home for these poor dogs. All commissions earned from this design will go to local animal shelters.

Thinking Of Getting A Dog

Taking care of a dog is a BIG responsibility. Dogs are totally dependent on their masters their entire lives so there are a lot of things to consider. Here are some things to think about before getting a dog.

Watching TV/Movies

I love watching tv and always make sure it is on as we get up in the morning and when we come home. I sit in front of the tv and stare at it intensely until it turns on. But I do not like horror and suspense movies. They are quite scary and make me want to climb up Mommie and her friends. So Mommie said she would stop watching those as they stress me out a lot. One movie I am hoping to watch is Bolt. It is new from Disney and looks like it will be fun to see. My all-time favorite movie is Eight Below. I kept trying to run along with the doggies in the snow.

We went to see a drive-in movie a few weeks ago. That way I could come along. I am too big to sneak into a regular movie theater so this was the alternative. There were loads of people there. But the movie started past my bedtime so I only watched the beginning and slept through most of the movie. We should go earlier next time.

WOW - I have an American Eskimo that was just diagnosed with IMHA last week. We are very lucky to still have her in our lives. The lowest PCV was 3. It's encouraging to see that Casper has done so well and has gotten through his relapses. I am so scared for my girl. I can't have kids, so she is my kid!! Good luck!

Casper,
My dad and I have action movie time on Saturday afternoons when mom is in class. We lay on the bed with a bag of popcorn and watch all kinds of stuff...I really like old science fiction movies (Forbidden Planet is one of my favs). Dad said our special movie times were the only way he ever would have wseen the Matrix series because mom thought it was stupid! I'm not choosing sides, I just ate popcorn and cuddled!

HI Casper.
It's nice to hear that you've been well. My mommy and I have been wondering for the longest time if it was possible to meet you. There aren't many eskies here in Davis and would LOVE to go to an eskie gathering. Please let us know if you might want to meet up. Thanks!
Love, Mochi and Tam

I am so behind in reading blogs. My favorite movie is Eight Below, too! I watch very intently! Those dogs on TV are smaller than we are.

Anyway I will post pictures, I promise.

Hi Casper,
Just want you to know I am thinking about you and hope you are all right...you haven't had a new post in a long time.

Please let your mom know that my mom's solo show finally has a committed date of Jan. 17, later than we originally thought but good that its not over the holidays and good because she will have a couple of new pictures (two are already on her website--including the one I refused to pose for).

Hey Casper,
Is your mom cooking a big Thanksgiving meal next week? We are having a small group at our house and we'll all share in the tasks...I love that because EVERYBODY slips me nibbles AND chef Richard always makes a "little something special for his princess!" This weekend Steve, Richard and Adam are going shopping for stuff we'll need so maybe I'll get some samples then, too!
